The “Bundesverband Möbelspedition und Logistik (AMÖ) e.V.” is the leading organization in the German furniture shipping industry. Together with 18 regional member associations, the AMÖ represents the interests of around 900 member companies. These are active in the fields of moving, commercial furniture logistics, IT and art forwarding. Organization and cooperation have a tradition of more than 135 years in furniture forwarding. Each individual AMÖ freight forwarder is a direct member of the relevant regional association.
In addition to the 18 member associations, the AMÖ includes the group of international furniture forwarders e.V. (GIM) to its members.
The highest organ for decision-making in the AMÖ is the delegate assembly, which meets once a year. The member associations are represented by elected delegates in accordance with the number of their member companies. Meetings of the entire Executive Board are held regularly between the delegate meetings. The member associations are represented on the joint board with one vote by their chairpersons.
